Tampa RV Supershow

Is everything really bigger and better and more expensive in ‘Merica?

We are regular visitors at the UK’s national Motorhome and Caravan Shows, and have been attending these shows for several years. We’ve also been lucky enough to spend many days exploring Caravan Salon, which is Europe’s largest Motorhome and Caravan show. This Dusseldorf show is geographically huge, eclipsing the UK event with more manufacturers and models on display.

Over the last 12 months or so, we have been looking at our options to start exploring another new continent. So, in January 2025 we decided to head to Tampa and visit the largest RV show in the USA.

With so many years of experience visiting the UK and European shows, we thought we knew what to expect. We expected to see huge, gas guzzling RVs, and boy did the show deliver on that, but we were also surprised by the lower budget offerings.

Just like in Europe, the US RV industry is divided into “Tow-ables” and “Drive-ables”. It was the extremes of offerings between the lowest budget and the higher budget that stunned us. We found incredibly basic caravan style trailers right through to huge 5th wheels that felt like  luxury apartments! And in the driveables, we toured million dollar vehicles and many fantastic family and budget friendly RVs. There genuinely was something for everyone.

My personal favourite of the whole show was a Thor Quantum SE which felt spacious and light, with 4 travelling seats and 4 berths, it was priced at just $59,995** . - it even included Air-conditioning as standard!

What a great introduction to the US RV market. We will definitely attend again!
